Tailored Training

Tailored team training is based on a combination of the methods of The Institute of Cultural Affairs' (ICA) and on experience, insight and knowledge that Elisabeth Wille has developed over the years. Some examples of training frameworks are given below.

Additionally to the tailored training courses, any of the Public Courses can be offered as in-house, personalised training. These personalised courses can focus on a group's own cases, situation, schedule and other requirements.

Teambuilding Day/Away Day with a purpose

This course is usually done as a 1 day event with follow-up done either in the group after 2-3 month or as individual sessions shortly after.

The purpose can be focused in different directions: improving communication, creating involvement in vision/strategy or focus vision/strategy, becoming a more efficient team, integrating new-comers and/or creating ground-rules for working in the team/department.

This course is always done in a participatory way with a mix of different activities usually leading to a number of action points for the team to focus on for the continued team-development after the day.

Team Development Program

This course is a series of shorter sessions spread over time, usually done as 1 3,5 hour session each month over a period of 6 months. This program can be combined with individual sessions between the group sessions if needed.

The purpose for this program is to:

  • Identify and combine the team member's individual skills and develop the best possible strategy to achieve a common goal. For this purpose, they will be motivated to use technical as well as social tools.
  • Understand leadership as the construction of the authority by all the members of the team. Enlarge and start applying the sense of belonging and trust as crucial elements to improve the performance within the team.
  • Achieve skills needed for working in today's new structures with greater demand for interaction and flexibility. Understanding the full environment with observers and actors at different levels is important for the individuals and for the team's performance.

Each session will deal with a specific theme. The 6 themes might be e.g.:

  1. Active Listening
  2. Leadership
  3. Communication
  4. Conflict Management/Stress Management
  5. Team Building
  6. Mentoring

Should the team wish to do so these sessions can be combined with individual and/or team development using personality differences (MBTI)

The advantage of working together over 6 months is the built-in follow-up which naturally becomes part of the program.

Change & MBTI - How to deal with change?

This course is held over three 1/2 day sessions usually with one session each month combined with individual sessions in-between.

The purpose of this training is to draw on in-depth knowledge about personality types with regard to how different people handle change, like to be involved or not and how information can be shaped relative to types. The participants will use knowledge about their own and others' personality type to start exploring how to work in a change situation with a high level of diversity.

The 3 half day sessions will be framed as follows but tailored to the team's actual situation:

  1. MBTI self-assessment - getting to know the participants' personality differences using MBTI
  2. Team MBTI profile. Change management introduction
  3. Change management based on personality type. Develop case-specific action plan.

Conflict management using facilitative methods

This training is done as a course running over 2 consecutive days.

The purpose of this course is to understand the concepts of conflict, your own part in it and different strategies for dealing with conflict. During the course the participants will use different facilitative tools on their own conflict cases and prepare implementation of solution-steps to undertake when back in the office.

The main elements covered over the 2 days are:

  • Personal conflict styles using Thomas Killman Index
  • Conflict management background and how to benefit from facilitative methods in conflict management
  • Practice using the facilitative methods in the groups specific case situations.
